Just renewed with Verizon last night, for another 2-year haul.
I was given a great deal and finally allowed to upgrade (for free) to the 802.11n router. In my previous attempts to upgrade, Verizon kept trying to make me pay for a new device.
The agent proudly described the features of the new equipment, which should arrive in a few days, claiming it boasts 85Mbps on wireless, whereas my current MI424-WR maxes out at 25Mbps. This was totally exciting for me because I've had the same old equipment since they wired my area for FiOS and was never able to take advantage of the new wireless-N technology that all my devices are capable of.
My issue is that I've been paying for 50/50 internet for years now. Has anyone been successful in getting Verizon to prorate their bill for high-speed services offered with inadequate equipment? Why was I offered 50/50 internet when my router can only accomodate 25Mbps?
