Like some of you I purchased a third party cable box converter to avoid the monthly fees Verizon charges for their set top boxes. By law, or at least FCC rules, Verizon must provide cable cards to any subscriber who chooses to use their own equipment. As many have found, Verizon will rent you a cable card for $5 per month. The problem is that Verizon converts the cards from multiple stream to single stream, which makes it impossible for the card to operate properly. They then advise their subscriber that the converter box is not be operating properly. Verizon is engaged in unfair and more than likely unlawful tactics. I have consulted with an attorney who will be willing to take on a class action if I am able to find other class members with similar situations. Please reach out to me ASAP so we can get this issue resolved and put some money in our pockets.
