Does anyone know, definitively, under what circumstances can an existing FiOS subscriber keep their old Actiontec router when upgrading their service or purchasing a new router form Verizon?
I have been a FiOS subscriber for (3)+ years and still use the same Actiontec MI424WR rev. C router that was provided during the original install.
My FiOS bill lists a charge for the monthly Internet service I receive, but there is no separate rental fee listed for the router.
My understanding is if a rental fee is not listed for the router the customer may keep this device when it is replaced.
I'd like to set up a (2) router network within my home and I am interested in upgrading to Quantum TV.
Again, my understanding is if I replace my QIP7232-P2/QIP7100-P2 with a VMS1100/IPC1100 Verizon will provide an Actiontec MI424WR rev. I (wireless b/g/n) router for no additional charge. Does this mean I can keep the old rev. C router if I upgrade to Quantum TV?
Continueing on with this process, say I upgrade to Quantum TV and receive a wireless n router then decide to buy a Quantum Gateway G1100 router; will I also be able to keep the MI424WR rev. I router?
If I purchase a Quantum Gateway G1100 router from Verizon is it mine to keep should I discontinue my FiOS service?
Your help is appreciated. I'd like to know what my options are before deciding to pay more for Verizon FiOS.
