Verizon scamming on the billings

I had Verizon Fios internet + TV with HBO for $71 a month (including tax and all equipment fees). One day, I saw a pop-up message on my account page saying I can add Showtime for $10 a month. I upgraded my service. I immediately received an email saying my bill will be $140 per month. I didnt understand the math. How can adding a $10 service bumps the price from $71 to $140. I called the Customer Service and the lady told me that when I upgraded my service, I lost all my discount and the $140 is my final bill. I told her that I didnt recieve any notification or message saying that when I upgrade, I will loose all of my discounts and the price will double. I spent 45 min. on the line and she told me that she can provide me some credit on the existing bill and will provide me 50/50 internet, basic cable and all premium movie channel for $98 per month (including tax, equipment fees etc). 

 

Next month, I received a bill for $137. I called Verizon to know why my bill is higher. The C.R. guy told me that this is my monthly price and will not be lower. I reminded her about the conversation earlier with Verizon. I also told him that verizon has the record of the call as they record and monitor all the call. He told me that it was the "LADY" who gave me the price, not the "VERIZON" and verizon has no obligation to honor the price that she provided. I asked to talk to the supervisor and he hesitated. I asked him to transfer to supervisor twice more and he indirectly declined. He told me that it was my fault to upgrade the service and he is not going to help me with this issue. He also told me that Verizon can change anyone's price at any time and do not have to honor the 1 year price guarantee that is posted on the website. I wanted to hear the same thing from supervisor's mouth so I asked him again whether he is going to transfer me to the supervisor or not. He finally said okay and said he is on another call. I was on hold for 30 min. waiting for supervisor and was unable to talk with supervisor. I am in total shock with verizon's behavior. This is intolerable issue and I am going to complain to better business bureau and state attorney's office about this issue. 

 

I dont know if corporate verizon is aware of this issue/scam. My relatives have Verizon wireless and they are happy with the service and the customer service. I have Verizon Fios and I experienced a bad service and one of the worst customer service.
