I have been trying to use port forwarding on my new fios g1100 gateway.
I have done this in the past and it was always simple. I have tried many ports.
First I setup my computer with a statc address which ends in .50
I set DHCP to start numbering at .60
I can see the computer fine
checked ipconfig and the number is OK
go to advanced and make port forwarding rule.
tcp enter same number for local and remote
UDP do the same
go to firewall click port forwarding enter the computer and the rule
list shows the rule fine
I go back to my computer(windows 7)
Windows firewall is off
and the program can't access the ports
I try port checker NG
I go back to the router and open DMZ for my machine.
port checker can access both ports OK
I asume from this that the problem isn't in my machine but the router?
switch off DMZ and the ports are blocked again
**bleep**
tried with many 4 digit and 5 digit portsalmost up to the numerical limit
Any Ideas
