I would like to start by saying how disappointed and frustrated I am with Verizon customer service. I had an urgent issue over a week ago and I have called Verizon over 4 times now with multiple report and ticket #'s and different people saying I would be contacted within 24-48 hours and nobody has responded to me yet.
On Saturday August 24th, a Verizon installation worker showed up and was in my basement working on putting the line in for my FiOS wireless internet. I heard a crash and went to the top of the stairs to see what happened and I see an overturned bucket I had in my basement and blood all over the floor. He screamed up to me saying call 9-1-1 and throw me some rags. I guess I should consider myself fortunate enough to never have needed to call 9-1-1 but I was so nervous. I had to get him rags for the bleeding and a stool to sit down. He apparently stood on the upside bucket and was putting the wires through the rafters when he cut his head on a hook. The police and medics showed up and had to take him to the hospital. (He called hours later to let me know he was OK and thanked me for my speedy response and offered to help clean up, I'm glad he is doing well.) Two of his managers showed up an hour later to take pictures of the event and then left. Nobody offered to help me clean, the policeman told me to do it with bleach and then call for professional cleaning. (The quote for that was $1500-$2500). Since the incident, I have called numerous times, Verizon has tried to contact the local manager that came to my house along with his area manager and NOBODY has called me back. Nobody offered to credit the installation fee back to me, I had to request it. And the professional cleaning company said if I don't get it cleaned up soon, there could be an odor from any blood that got into the cracks of my unfinished basement floor and there would be a major bug problem.
Can someone PLEASE get back to me on this matter. I have pictures, the local manger's business card, and all of the report numbers.
