Unable to detect printer, which is connected to Verizon M1424WR router. Printer is connected to USB1 port and USB1 light is lit on router. Install software is unable to detect printer. Have tried both computers.
Was on phone for over one hour with Dell, maker of new Win 8 computer. They concluded that problem was router, not Win 8 or their computer. (Can connect printer directly to computer.)
Have tried to install from old Win XP computer. Unable to auto-detect printer. For manual detect, install software wants 1) hardware address, or 2) IP address, or 3) IP hostname.
Tried to get this info from Verizon router. Can find IP adresses for two computers and two other devices. Tried IP address of other divices and variations on IP address of computers. No success.
Can see 4 LAN ports and 1 WAN port, but no USB port, on Port Configuration screen. Can find no info about USB on any of router screens.
