How fast/slow is FIOS wifi speed supposed to be?

Hi

I am currently on the FIOS 50mpbs / 25mpbs plan

While I get the max speed on ethernet, I barely get 1mbps on wireless be it a laptop, phone, tablet, whatsoever

I understand wifi is slower than ethernet, but is around 1mpbs normal or is it slower than it should be?

Also, my router's been around 3-4 years old and I was wondering if it might be affecting the slow speed as well.
