I ended my service as of the end of May 2015 becuase I moved to a location where there is no Verizon. Now I'm getting billed again apparently for part of June...it's probably right but I have no way to check becasue I cannot access my bill, neither to look at it or to pay it becuase the system doesn't let me log in to my account anymore. I have always paied my bills from my online account and both emails I received indicated that that's how I should pay this final bill.
After I realized the system doesn't recognize me in any way, I contacted the chat customer service from which I found out that there is actually a different way to pay your final bill that does not require log in becuase you can't log in anymore but requires you to pay a 3.50 fee. https://www.verizon.com/foryourhome/equickpay/code/payfinalbill.aspx People have mentioned already in the forum how unfair this is but that's not my problem now.
My problem is that to access that "final bill payment" page I need my account number, but the account number is written on the bill (and nowhere else in my possession) but the only way I had to view a bill was by logging into my account online, which I can't do anymore because Verizon "blocked" me sisnce I cancelled service.
Question: how can I pay my final bill if I don't have access to my online account anymore and (consequently) I don't have my account number?? Can somebody from Verizon who reads this email me and tell me my account number? I just want to pay my bill! Or does anybody know where else I can find the account number? (I searched all my emails from Verizon but nothing)
[I would also like to point out how difficult it was to get the information that 1. I can't log in and 2/ there is a different webpage to pay final bills. Why was this information not included in the two emails aboout my final bill that I received???]
[Finally, in general about the customer service: I never had any issues with Verizon and the people I spoke on the phone were always nice but I find myself now in the situtaion in which I cannot make phone calls becuase I'm abroad traveling for research for months and I cannot afford an intercontinental phone call in which it's likely that I will be put on hold for an hour...I think Verizon should provide an email address to contact in case people for whatever reason cannot call. The chat has too many limits being a machine]
Thank you
