Currently have FIOS 75/35 plan...however, when performing the Speed Test, we discovered we're getting only 39.5/ 2.5.
Our router was installed last January when we switched to Verizon - the standard issued ActionTec MI424WR - REV 1.
However, we noticed that the gray Ethernet Cable that was installed...1) that is coming in from the wall to the router and 2) from the router to our two PC's are old CAT 5 cables. The newer CAT 7 cables are supposed to provide faster speeds up to 10 times faster...
Before I contact a Verizon CPR, can anyone shed any light as to whether a simple change in the Ethernet cable will provide a faster speed? And if not what else could be the problem? Otherwise, we're paying for service that we're not close to receiving.
