$250 Verizon Gift Card never received

In May 2017 I contracted with Verizon Fios for Triple Play and was to receive a $250 Verizon Gift Card after 65 days of service. I  received an email back in July 2017 stating the gift card was "in the mail." It's now FIVE months later, and I have not received the gift card. I've called Verizion Customer Service and was instructed to call other contact numbers, and still no one can resolve this matter. I'm tired of getting the run around.  I have read here in the forum that others have had similar problems. PLEASE RESOLVE THIS FOR ME, VERIZON!!!

1GB Internet - Not on Roku, Not on Samsung Galaxy S7 via 5G

I'm hoping I'm not repeating a question alreasy asked, but I did search and found results not remotely related to the issue I'm having.

I had Fios 1 gbps service installed yesterday but cannot get nearly that speed to my ethernet-connected Roku. Here are the details of my service and equipment:

Service: Verizon 1gb Internet (up to 940/880 Mbps)

Router: Fios G1100

Ethernet Cable into Router: Cat5e

Splitter/Coax: MoCA 2.0

Patch/Ethernet Cable to Roku: 25ft. Cat6

Roku Model: Roku 2 4210R

The speed tests I run on the Roku indicated a rate of ~90Mbps and no more, despite no equipment/cable that is incapable of much higher speeds (to the best of my knowledge). I don't believe the Roku model itself is limited in any way, and I'm quite certain that the router and patch cables are capable of higher throughput.

Now, this speed is great...but it's not close to 940 Mbps. Has anyone had this problem? If so, have you been able to fix it? I only have two devices that I really want/need the top speeds for - the Roku and a laptop docking station. So far neither can achieve anything over about 90Mbps.

Related - my Samsung Galaxy S7 is connected to the 5G wireless. Running a speed test within 12 inches of the router, I get 91.9Mbps/119.9Mbps speeds. This phone complies with the 802.11ac standard...within a foot of the router, the speeds should be WAY higher than this, unless there's some setting that's off. They just set up the router yesterday, so if there is a router issue, I'd like Verizon to come get that fixed ASAP (or do it myself).

Switched to Fios, now can't RDP to work computer

I recently switched over to FIOS from Xfinity for Gigabit service. Once fios was installed, I can no longer connect to my work computer (once VPN'd in). I have checked with co-workers and they can still use the same process of connecting to the server thru VPN, fire up RDP and cannect straight thru. I can connect to my server no problem (Pulse Secure) and can ping my computer from the CMD window fine....but RDP takes forever to try connecting and then it can't connect because Remote Desktop is not enabled.

I had our IT guy connect to my work computer just fine and I did it from my friends house fine, so that limits it to my network and I've disabled windows firewall (even though it worked on Xfinity)

Again, once I connect to the VPN I can ping the work computer and it pings fine.

Any help?

Has anyone been successful in installing a Lacrosse weather station on theit network? I can get it to work in my office on another carrier's service but not on my Fios service. So the device is good and the app is good. Can't figure out why it will not connect. BTW neither will my LG over.

Returned the equipment, but getting mail that it is not returned

Hi,

After I moved to my new address about two months ago, the person who came to set up my fios internet at new location took the old equipment with him. I am still getting message about not returning the equipment. And as usual, talking to a representative is next to impossible in verizon and I waited for over 25 minutes in futile and forced to listen all their ads meanwhile!! Seriously???!!!! You call this customer service!

Someone please help.

Also, I bought the router last time. So do I get anything in credit for returning it?

Thanks

When disconnecting the battery in BBU

I only have Fios Internet, and no landline so I don't want the battery connected in the BBU.  I understand BBU needs to stay plugged into the wall outlet to provide the power to ONT.  When I disconnect the battery in BBU, the red light for Replace Battery comes on on the BBU.  Is this normal?  Is it safe to have the BBU plugged into the wall outlet and keep using the Internet with this Replace Battery red light on?

Very poor Wifi

I have Fios internet and TV. ActiontecMI424WR Rev. I router with coax connection to ONT. I pay for 75 mbps service. My wired connections are great, often 100 mbps up and down. I used to get 60 mbps + with my wifi connections but now it's an abysmal 20 dowm and 10 up.

I have gone through all troubleshooting steps many times. I've spoken with Verizon tech service. I haven't added any new 2.4 gigahertz devices to my home and I get the same poor wifi regardless if there are 15 devices connected or only my 1 laptop. I am considering adding my own router to handle wifi duties and believe it should work because my wired signal is very good. However, since the Actiontec router worked well for a long time, I'm wondering if replacing it with a new Actiontec might do the trick. Is it possible that the Actiontec has gone bad in some way?

Any help appreciated as this is very frustrating.

Take over the existing contract

Hi,

I would like to share my recent experience. So, last Friday I was ordering my FIOS and just before clicking on CONFIRM, I decided to chat and latter to call specialist because I found stupid to have a technician coming at our apartment as there was already existing line and box. In fact, the specialist told me that I don’t need to create a new order just to take over the existing contract. Which I was accepting as I was said that I will be charged as a new client, means for the 1st year for 100/100 internet plan, 39,99$ (+ 10, + taxes).

On Saturday morning when I discover the mail informing me that the contract is already on my name, I also discover that my plan is charged 106$ (like the person who’s plan I was taking over). After speaking to support, nobody could help me to give the price as a new client. So I asked to cancel all the transfer. The line is cut and I have a box to return (which I even did not use). I am very angry about this situation, plus I am now with no internet! Did somebody experience this and what should I do?

VDSL light on D-link 6300V modem keeps going out and drops my internet connection

I have had verizon Fios for 6 months now? in the last few weeks this has constantly been happening and I have no idea why and verizon chat support has not been any help (they see no problems on their end..)

the hardware I have is a 6300V D-link modem and a verizon quantum router

I haven't seen any issues so far with the router - typical white globe/white wifi signal at all times, no blinking

but on the dlink modem, it seems every 24 hours or so, it just goes haywire for some reason..It drops internet connection every few minutes (VDSL light goes out completely)...it regains the internet connection and VDSL light comes back on for a few minutes, than repeats again for a while...I usually have to restart the router/modem for it to become stable again and i'm getting real tired of seeing this happen

sometimes it happens every few hours as well but those have been rarer and now its only been happening a few times, daily.

What is going on? that causes this every 24 hours or so? is it something to do with the DHCP leasing? Should I be able to see something in the advanced status system monitoring logs? I can look something up if it would be helpful to anyone who needs more detail on this mattter

I have done a hard reset/restart as well on both the router and modem..this issue still happened after that.

lan does not have a valid ip configuration

My FiOS will be installed next week. I purchased a G1100 Gateway on Ebay and I am not sure it is working.

I do not have it connected to the internet (obviously). I plugged it in to power and the top indicator on the front is red, which I assume means it is on and has no interent connection.

I connected a laptop to it via ethernet. and I get "lan does not have a valid ip configuration" as an error.

I do not see the router's ssid being broadcast.

I tried to connect through a browser to the address 192.168.1.1

IPconfig reports the IP address being assigned as 169.254.71.22 so I tried to connect using 169.254.1.1 and 169.254.71.1 all to no avail.

I have rebooted the modem, unplugged the modem, and pressed the reset button numerous times.

So now I am wondering if the G1100 is defective. Any advice appreciated.

WOL (Wake on Lan) Fios G1100 Settings

Hello.

To enable WOL(wake on lan), I followed the instruction on the website.

http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16041

Even though I do everything correctly with following the instruction, I can’t use(activate) “Telnet”.

On the menu [Advanced > Local Administration], there is “Using Primary SSH Port (22)” option instead of “Using Primary Telnet Port (23)” option.

Is it possible to enable WOL with SSH port?
or please let me know how I can use or activate Telnet.

Thank you.

Quantum Router (G1100) keeps resetting itself to Factory Defaults

I have a Fios Quantum Gateway router and every few days it resets back to factory defaults.  I'll log in and change my settings back to my personal choices and after a few days, it is back to the factory defaults.  Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Verizon Fios not directly informing customers of change in billing rates

$

I recently had my bill go up with no noticeable indication that it was happening.

I looked through my monthly billing notifications and saw no mention of a change coming.

After what seemed like a billion hoops to jump through, I finally was put in contact with a Fios representative. This representative was very helpful and he told me that there was a notice of a coming change to the bill in my monthly statement.

I have electronic statements setup. So, I went to MyVerizon, clicked to the spot where I can view the statement, and finally found this notice that my bill would change.

Since I signed up for electronic statements, I assumed (mistakenly it would seem) that my monthly billing notification would hold such information, or that I would receive a separate email notice of changes about to happen to my bill.

So, the purpose of this message, besides for me to complain, is to pose to Verizon that they do either offer this information in the billing notifications or in a separate email notification, instead of only in the billing statement, as the billing statement is usually back of mind, while the notifications get one's, or at least my, attention each month.

Quantum G1100 Router suddenly not keeping 5ghz connections

$

For the past 2 weeks or so, my G1100 router will no longer connect reliably at 5ghz. My devices will connect and then immediately disconnect or refuse to connect at all. If I reboot the router or change anything in the wifi settings that causes the router to reset the wireless, 5ghz will work again for a day or so, but then the same thing will happen. I have tried many different 5ghz channels, but none fix the issue for more than a day or so. I have no issues with 2.4ghz, only 5ghz.  Prior to this problem recently, everything worked fine for over a year. I posted over at DSLReports and one other person has the same issue, but no one has any resolution to the problem.

Has anyone here seen this issue?  Does anyone know if Verizon pushed a firmware update over the last 2 weeks?

Rich
